ETCM - Hospital (1910), School (1912) & College of Nursing (2004) is named in Memory of ELLEN THOBURN who had been very active in promoting missionary work and a bulwark of strength to Methodist Church in India. The ETCM School & College of Nursing is an educational institution of the members of the Women's Division of the Methodist Church in India financed by the devoted Christian Women of the United States, who are the members of the Women's Division of the Methodist Church in USA.
Students come to us from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Maharastra, & Gujarat State.
Majority of our graduates of this institute are serving positions of responsibility all over India, Middle East, Canada, European countries, Malaysia and USA.
Aims of the School:
1. Our School attempts to integrate health service throughout the nursing and midwifery course and thus prepare the nurse for more effective service whether in a hospital or in community.
2. We aim to provide a programme which will help the nurse to develop into a well rounded person capable of continued growth in her / his personal and professional life.
College Objectives:
The basic B.Sc (Nursing) will enable the students to:
1. acquire knowledge of theory & practice of nursing to deliver comprehensive Nursing care.
2. develop an appreciation of ethical & moral principles involved in the practice of Nursing.
3. develops skills in recognizing health status & provide quality care by applying nursing process based on priority to the fullest satisfaction of the individual.
4. recognize the need for higher education & research which is essential for bringing changes in the field of Nursing Service, Education & Administration.
The institution is recognized by Karnataka & Indian Nursing Council, Resolution No: 71/2 October / 1999.
